Baked Swiss Steak

Ingredients:

20 oz. round steak - tenderized

3 tbs. all-purpose flour

1/4 cup canola oil

14 1/2 ounces tomatoes, canned, prefer petit cut

1/2 cup carrots, coarsely grated

1/4 cup chopped celery

1 tbs. chopped onion

1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese

 


Instructions:

Cut steaks into 5 ounce serving size. Dust with 2 tbs of the flour. Brown in canola oil. Place in single layer in baking dish. Add remaining 1 tbs flour to pan drippings. Heat and add tomatoes, carrots, celery, chopped onion and Worcestershire sauce. Spoon over each piece of meat. Cover and bake for 3 hours in 250° oven. May sprinkle a tablespoon of grated cheese over each serving before serving.
